Bernice Griffith-Plank

Bernice Griffith-Plank, 92, of Newburg passed away on December 16, 2024, at her home. She was born on February 4, 1932, in Olney, Illinois to Glen Meadows and Ethel (Boatman) Meadows.

Bernice attended and graduated from Olney High School in 1950 and went to work as a housekeeper at Sugar Tree. She was a member of First Christian Church in Newburg. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, canning, and jelly making. 

Those left to mourn her loss are sons Al (Sandy) Griffith of Terlton, Oklahoma, and Vic Griffith of Newburg; son in law Gary Gamble of Newburg, grandson Josh (Melissa) Griffith of Rolla, grandson Matthew Griffith of Burlington, Vermont, Kassie(Lance) Linneman of Waterford, Wisconsin, great grandchildren Ellianna and Emmitt Griffith of Rolla, Parker Gamble of Columbia, Missouri, Emma and Oliva Linneman of Waterford, Wisconsin, grandson Gary Gamble of Columbia, Missouri and Billy Gamble of Newburg. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Lee Griffith, her second husband Lou Plank, a daughter Donna Gamble, and a son Gary Griffith.

Servies for Bernice will be held on February 1, 2025, at 11:00am at the First Christian Church in Newburg with Andy Mattison officiating. Memorial donations can be made to the First Christian Church of Newburg.
