Dorothy Eileen Mock, known to everyone as “Pinky”, passed away on March 31, 2023, at Salem MO at the age of 86 years and 4 months. She was born November 14, 1936, in Toledo, Ohio to Anna Catherine Fitzgerald.
In 1953 she was married to James R. Mock in Toledo, and to this union three children were born. James R Mock Jr, Jean Marie Mock, and Jo Ellen Taylor. Later she married William Leo Mock of Toledo.
Pinky had a variety of jobs over the years, most notably making carburetors at Tilitson Corp and at Ace Hardware in Toledo. Along with her husband she managed senior apartment complexes in Toledo and Adrian, Michigan. Her last employment was at Mortan Plant Rehabilitation Center in Clearwater, Florida.
She enjoyed knitting and was an avid reader. Her passion was to help anyone in need.
Pinky is survived by her twin sister Doris (William) Trott of Nashville, Tennessee, three children James R. (Cheryl) Mock of St Petersburg, Florida, Jean Marie Mock, and her special friend Leonard Fitzgerald who Pinky called “Bubba”, of Salem, MO, and Jo Ellen Taylor of Eminence, MO. Seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, four sisters Mary (Glen) Warren, Patricia (Donald) Becker, Joanie (Robert) Terry, Katie Kagy, one brother John (Margaret) Joseph, a son-in-law Larry E Black, great grandson Johnathan Mock, nephew Bud Warren, two nieces Casey Feeley, and Carol Faye Mock.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
