Elmer Lee Middleton Jr., age 86 of Rolla, passed away December 26, 2017 at the Rolla Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rolla. Elmer was born on October 20, 1931, in Alton, Ill., a son to the late Elmer and Vera (Oseland) Middleton. On November 8, 1952, he was united in marriage to Naomi Mae Cole who proceeded him in death on September 10, 2009. Elmer proudly served in the U.S. Army as a nurse and worked for the Alton Box Company for many years. He loved his family and dedicated his life to them. Elmer is survived by one daughter: Randie Lansdale of Alton, IL., six grandchildren; Stephanie Shelby, Rachael(Travis) Wells, Crystal Meharg, Jennifer (JJ) Collier, Aaron (Sasha) Middleton, Sara (James) Mees, fifteen great grandchildren; Rebecca, Jacob, Lucas, Elizabeth, Haley, Tyvin, Steven, Lacey, Waylon, Juliette, Evelyn, Ethan, Seth, Jamara, and Sariya, two sisters; Patricia Davis of Wood River and Beulah Davis of Alton; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other family, friends and loved ones. In addition to his parents and wife, Elmer is preceded by a son Steven Middleton, a grandson Kevin Middleton, a brother Robert Middleton, a sister Della Heaton and two brothers in law Paul and Morris Davis. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. January 31, 2018, at The Salvation Army in Alton, IL. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the family of Elmer Middleton.
