Esther Brunton was born on November 27, 1933 to Harley and Esther Littel. On November 10, 2023, Esther peacefully entered heaven just a few days before her 90th birthday in Rolla, Missouri.
Esther was born and raised in Burden, Kansas, the youngest of six children. After graduating from Burden High School, Esther married Willis Brunton on January 12, 1952 and they made their first home in Cambridge, Kansas. Willis preceded her in death on
July 25, 2011.
Esther enjoyed sewing, reading, her flower gardens, watching Cardinal baseball games, and cheering on her favorite basketball team, the KU Jayhawks. She kept her own stat sheet of the basketball games, and if you missed a game she could look back and review. She loved her family and especially delighted in the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Esther and Willis lived several places in Kansas, but she always called Cambridge home, with so many memories of big family gatherings and fish fry meals.
Esther is survived by her three children, Larry (Colleen) Brunton, Lynnda (Jay) Huerta, Frank (Gerry) Brunton; four grandchildren, Hilary (Bryan) Smith, Ryan (Morgan) Brunton, Scott (Lauren) Brunton, Renee (Matt) Jay and six great grandchildren Elly and Nora Brunton, Caleb Smith, Luca Brunton, Ellis and Marley Jay; an adopted brother Roland Littel, and many nephew and nieces.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by a son in law, Gordon Gray.
A Graveside service will be held at 10:30 on Wednesday November 29 at the Cambridge Cemetery of Cambridge, Kansas. Memorials may be made to the Cambridge Presbyterian Church.
