Evelyn Arlene Livesay

Evelyn Arlene (Wilkinson) Livesay of Steelville, Missouri, was born Monday, November 30, 1942, to Norris and Glyde Wilkinson at Huzzah, Missouri.  She departed from this life suddenly yet peacefully on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at the age of 76 years, 6 months, and 5 days. 

Evelyn was married to Bobby Gene Livesay on April 2, 1970, at House Springs, Missouri, and to this union she gained four children: Rick, Mike, Donna and Teresa. Bob and Evelyn loved traveling together, especially to NASCAR races, and they enjoyed over thirty years together before Bob’s passing in 2000. Evelyn worked at Brown Shoe company for many years and then owned and managed Payne’s Package Store alongside Bob for some time afterwards. She enjoyed quilting, NASCAR racing (especially the late Dale Earnhardt #3), cooking, catching up with friends at the beauty shop, and spending her days with her beloved dog, Tucker. 

Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, two sisters-in-law, and two brothers-in-law. She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandson, and her dear friends Shirl and Dennis Sandstrom of Steelville, MO; brother David (Fern) Wilkinson, of Steelville, MO; sister Linda Wilkinson White of Manchester, MO; sister-in-law Charlotte Livesay of Cuba, MO; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Her family has chosen to honor her wishes of cremation for her final disposition and will have a private burial at a later date. Donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
