Forrest Lee Todd

  Forrest Lee Todd, age 91 of Vichy, MO., passed away Saturday, February 9, 2019, at the Missouri Veterans Home in St. James.  Forrest was born on October 25, 1927, in Webster Groves, MO., a son to the late Fred and Eunice (Moreland) Todd. On August 17, 1957, he was united in marriage to Marie (Evans)Ellis. She preceded him in death on April 14, 2002. He later married Deloris Todd who preceded him in death in March 2013.  Forrest was a member of the Broadway Baptist Church in Vichy and attended Rolla High School and graduated from Vienna High School in 1946. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Vichy and served honorably in the United States Army. During his time in the Army he attended training and schools in Fort Lee, VA. He also attended the University of Missouri in Columbia, majoring in Agriculture from 1947-1948, leaving to support his mother after his father Fred Todd passed away in 1948. He worked as a private contractor providing landscaping for Fort Leonard Wood and later, he went into real estate. He built a business as the broker of Todd Real Estate in St. James where he worked with his wife Marie for over 30 years. He enjoyed history and chronicling the legacy of the Todd and Moreland influence and activities in the area. He was an avid reader of Civil War history, citing the local battles and his ancestor's involvement for both the North and the Confederacy. Forrest passion was his farming. He farmed the ancestral family homestead in Vichy for over 73 years until he took residence at the Missouri Veterans Home in St. James. Survivors include his children; Mark Todd and his wife Helena and family of Darmstadt, Germany, Michael and Barbara Todd of Vichy, MO., Lorna Smith and her husband Jimmy of Owensville, MO., Elaine Woolsey of St. James, MO., Bonnie Matlock and her husband Bill of St. James, MO., Cecil Ellis of St. James, MO., one sister, Shirley Gould of St. Charles, MO., and one brother, Francis Todd and his wife GiGi of Warrenton, MO. He was preceded in death by his daughter Cheryl Lynn Todd and his brother Fred Todd Jr. and one step daughter Sharon Ellis. Memorial services are scheduled for a later date to accommodate his son's travel from overseas. The services will be held at Broadway Baptist Church in Vichy, Mo.
