Gerald Lee Werner age 78 of Rolla, died unexpectedly at University Hospital in Columbia on Friday, August 6, 2021.
He was born March 21, 1943, in Chicago Illinois, a son of the late Edward H. Werner and Violet H. (Baney) Werner.
Gerald was baptized Lutheran.
Gerald graduated Rolla High School in 1961. He served in the National Guard from 1964 to 1970 when he received an honorable discharge.
He Worked at the Rolla Daily Newspaper in Missouri, Caterpillar Tractor Company in Illinois, and a floor care worker for Heritage Park Nursing home in Missouri.
Gerald was married to Brenda S. Crouch of Rolla on September 18, 1968, and they were married for 52 years.
Gerald was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He was a loving and devoted, father and husband as well as a good provider for his family.
Gerald was a survivor of throat cancer since 2011. He participated in the Relay for life in Rolla.
Gerald’s favorite color was Baby Blue. His favorite animal was the owl. He loved St Louis Cardinal Baseball games of which his favorite player was Yadier Molina. Up until his later years Gerald threw a mean horseshoe game. He also liked to play card games, watch horse races, cooking shows, and game shows. He was a good cook and some of his specialties were meatloaf and his famous baked beans. Gerald could often be found putting puzzles together while singing and listening to 50's, 60's, or country music.
Gerald Werner was predeceased by his parents Edward and Violet Werner, four sisters, Dee Adam, Fern Bibeau, Darlean Danaher, and Marilyn Tischer and two Brothers, Harold Werner and Roger Werner
Gerald is survived by his wife Brenda; a sister Judy Grant and her husband Chuck of the state of Illinois; a daughter Tammy and her husband Jesse Fielder; a son Tony Werner and his wife Beverly (Martin); his grandchildren, Samantha Fielder, Michael Werner, Stephen Fielder, Matthew Werner, and Miranda Werner as well as many nieces and nephews.
Gerald Lee Werner will be deeply and forever missed dearly.
