Henry Leo Ponzer

Henry Leo Ponzer, age 93 of Lecoma, passed away, Monday, December 25, 2023, at the Missouri Veterans Home in St. James.

Henry was born November 27, 1930, in Rolla, a son to the late Ben and Julia (Franz) Ponzer.

Henry proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army with two years of active duty at Ft Belvoir, VA. He was discharged from military service in 1959 as a Master Sergeant. 

Henry received a B.S in Civil Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla

On May 28, 1960, He was united in marriage to Mary Dollentine Dorey in St Louis. She preceded him in death.

Henry was the owner of Ponzer-Youngquist, P.A.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

Survivors include his three children, Brian Ponzer and his wife Kelly of Olathe, KS, and their children, Dillon and Regan; Patricia Podraza and her husband Mike of Lees Summit, MO,    and their children, Michaela, Joshua, Sarah and Alex; and Matthew Ponzer of Overland Park, KS, and his children, Hayden, Tucker and Karson, two great grandchildren, Grayson Hunter and Jameson Hunter, one brother, George Ponzer and one sister, Imelda Martin.

In addition to his parent and spouse, Henry was preceded in death by his second wife, Ida Shockley and his siblings, Ben, John, Viola, Josephine, Loretta and Pauline.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00a.m. on Friday January 5, 2024, at St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Rolla. Burial will be in the Beaver Creek Cemetery.
