Homer Lee Cook Jr.

Homer Lee Cook Jr., age 85 died peacefully February 28, 2022, at the Harry S Truman VA Hospital in Columbia.

He was born on August 15, 1936, in Rolla, to Homer Lee Cook Sr. and Hazel Mildred (McDowell) Cook.

Homer graduated Rolla High School with the class of 1958 and attended Missouri S&T for Computer Engineering.  Homer served in the United States Navy from 1954-1958.  After returning home, he met and married the love of his life, Edith Irene (Maxwell) Cook, and settled in the Rolla area.  This year they celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary.  Homer enjoyed fishing, treasure hunting, and living his dream of owning livestock.

Homer was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on July 25, 1967.  He devoted his life to his faith in Jehovah God and spent many hours sharing his hope in a future paradise on earth. Homer loved life and his family.

Homer was preceded in death by his father, Homer L Cook Sr., his mother Hazel Mildred (McDowell) Cook, and his brother, Howard D Cook.

In addition to his wife, Edith Irene Cook, he is survived by his sister, Joanne (Cook) Hovelmann, Rolla; his sons, James L Cook, St. James, and Jeffery A Cook, Rolla; his daughters, Sherri (Cook) Stell, Florence, AZ, and Beth (Cook) Hutchens, Rolla; along with three nieces, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at a later time.
