Iris Joyce Salts

 Iris Joyce Salts, age 63 of Rolla, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis after a battle with cancer.   Iris was born on August 8, 1952, in Belle, a daughter to the late Lawrence W. and Jesse L. (Holman) Shanks.   Iris was a 1970 graduate of Belle High School.   On October 19, 1973, she was united in marriage to Marvin L. Salts in Belle.  He survives of the home.   Iris was a member of the Rolla Lioness Club.  She enjoyed spending time at the farm, crocheting, knitting, sewing and going to craft shows.  However, her greatest joy came from spending time with her friends, family, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals.   In addition to her spouse of 42 years, Iris is survived by: a daughter, Jennifer Smith and her husband Jason of Rolla; a son, Jarrad Salts and his wife Karen of Rolla; two grandchildren, Cameron Smith and Savannah Salts; and her aunt, several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.   In addition to her parents, Iris was preceded in death by her stepmother Ruth Shanks, a granddaughter Madelyn Salts, a brother Wayne Shanks, and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.   A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church in Rolla.  A private inurnment will follow in the Macedonia Church Cemetery.   Memorials are suggested to the Rolla Lions Foundation.
