James “Bill” William Love, 70 years old, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Rolla, Missouri on Monday October 2, 2023. Bill was born January 29, 1953, in Waynesville, Missouri to parents Floyd and Geneva (Jenkins) Love of Rolla, Missouri.
Bill was raised in Rolla and attended Rolla Public Schools before joining the Navy to serve on an aircraft carrier during the Vietnam War. After the war he spent most of his career as a truck driver, but often you would find him working late in the evenings under the hood of a car on one of his own projects or helping a friend in need.
Bill was a devote Christian, an ordained minister, and loved worshiping the Lord through his music. When he wasn’t wrenching on a car in his free time, you’d find him singing, strumming his guitar, and playing his harmonica to the old gospel hymns. Though Bill was not a wealthy man, he was always the first to give when help was needed.
Bill is survived by his daughter Melody Love; son Nathan Love and wife, Toni of Rolla; six grandchildren Kayley, Hailee, Ethan, Nathaniel, Aubrianna, and Quenton; as well as nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Valerie, daughter Valerie Jane, and grandson James.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00pm on Thursday October 19, 2023, at Let It Flow Evangelism, 13660 CR 8010, Rolla, Mo 65401
