James Wesley Wallen, Jr

James Wesley Wallen, Jr., age 70 of Rolla passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023 At the Silver Stone nursing facility in Rolla. 

James was born on August 19, 1952, in Kanas City, a son to the late James Wesley, Sr and Frances (Hooker) Wallen.

He was a 1970 graduate of Elk Grove High School in Elk Grove, Illinois. Following high school, James entered the United States Army and proudly served his country for 22 &1/2 years including a tour of duty during the Vietnam War.

James was very active in high school marching and playing the saxophone in the band and running cross country on the track team. He was a kind man and would give the shirt off his back if someone needed it. James enjoyed reading and watching westerns. Although he had no children, he loved his Dachshund doggies like they were his children.

James is survived by: one brother, David Wallen and his wife Mary of Rolla and two special friends, Leon Matthews, and Jason Conroy as well as some extended family members.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by an infant twin brother and sister and several aunts and uncles.

In keeping with James’s wishes, no services are scheduled.
