John Henry Schwent, age 92 of Cuba, MO., passed away October 28, 2017 at his residence. John was born on January 11,1925 in Flat River, Mo., a son to the late Henry and Ann (Schmidt) Schwent. John was a graduate of Cuba High School and proudly served in the United States Army. On February 19, 1946, John married his sweetheart Ada E. Luck at the Holy Cross Church in Cuba. She survives of the home. John was a lifelong member of the Holy Cross Church in Cuba. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. In addition to his wife, survivors include: One son, Paul Schwent and wife Liz of Cuba, one step-grandson, Justin Wynn and wife Crystal of Cuba, one step-granddaughter, Janae Edington and husband Mike of Rolla, seven step-great grandchildren, and one step-great great granddaughter, numerous nieces and nephews, other family, and friends. John is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ann (Schmidt) Schwent, and one infant son who passed at birth. A memorial graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Cuba with Father Richard Boever officiating. Interment will follow.
