Linda J. Dean

  Linda J. Dean, age 77 of Rolla, MO., passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla. She was born August 1, 1941 in Rolla, MO., a daughter to the late Frank and Louise Simily. On April 14, 1962, she married Charles L. Dean in Rolla. Linda worked for many years as a tax preparer and was active in the Rolla Lions club and served as president in the past. She was also an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where she served in many offices and committees including church treasurer for several years. She also was a volunteer at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center and served as past president of the Hospital Auxiliary. Linda will be missed by her surviving family which includes: her husband, Charles L. "Bud" Dean of Rolla; one daughter, Susan A. Scherer and husband Keith of St. Louis, MO., and one son, Brian C. Dean and wife Sharon of Rolla, MO.; five grandchildren; Stephanie Scherer, Andrew Scherer, Brady Dean and fiancée, Ashley Haddock, Garrett Dean and wife Alexis, Mattie Dean; two great grandchildren; Cooper Dean and Allee Dean; and mother in law Helen M. Dean; several cousins, other family and friends.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2019, at the Redeemer Lutheran Church 1701 E. State Route 72 Rolla, MO., 65401 with a Memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Redeemer Lutheran Church or Rolla Lions Foundation.
