Marco J. Pijl 52, died unexpectedly October 2, 2021, at his residence in Phelps County.


He was born on August 21, 1969, in The Hague Netherlands. The son of Richard Ignatius Lucas and Martina Carolina (Stoffels) Pijl of the Hague Netherlands.

Marco graduated from high school, in the Netherlands. Following graduation. He attended college at Oranje Nassau and then received his Associates Degree at The University of Phoenix for business.

He met his wife Rheannon online in 2003 and won a radio contest in the Netherlands to meet her. The prize to fly to the United States for the first time to meet in person. Marco stayed for 2 weeks, went back home. Less than a year later he would return to the United States to stay and marry his wife Rheannon Pijl. They would settle in the beautiful Ozark Mountain area of Missouri. They were married 15 years in September, they had 2 children.

Marco had a wonderful sense of humor and a very big heart, but he was the kind of man who would speak his mind. Marco was an IT professional. He loved computers and loved playing darts and spending time with his family. He was a son, father, brother, uncle, and a cousin. We will miss him dearly.

In addition to his wife Rheannon (Mykleby) Pijl, Marco is survived by, his youngest son Alexander Hendrikus Pijl, his youngest daughter Annalisa Martina Pijl, stepdaughter Diana Rose Fowler and stepson Kristian Lawrence Fowler, his ex-wife Lesley Soetbrood-Piccardt, his oldest son Kaj Piccardt, oldest daughter Sofie Piccardt, his oldest brother Richard Pijl, youngest brother Harry Pijl, sister Marieke Baptiste-Pijl all from The Netherlands, Belgium and Bonaire, his father Richard Ignatius Lucas Pijl, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He is predeceased by his mother, Martina.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 5:15Pm on Thursday October 28th, 2021, at Greenlawn Mortuary in Branson, Missouri. Expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in Marco’s honor by emailing pijlcelebrationoflife@gmail.com
