Marilyn Marie Guffey

Marilyn Marie Guffey passed away on February 24, 2023 at University of Missouri Health Center with her family by her side.  She was born January 11, 1965 in St Louis, MO to James Guffey and Freda Johnston. 

She loved pointing out that she was named after Marilyn Monroe.  She will be remembered by those that knew her best as a strong, opinionated, and fearless woman. She loved the Current River, crafting, being outside where she showed off her green thumb, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, going on picnics and most of all being with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, a sister Cathy Plouder, three uncles Floyd, Alva, and Earl Johnston. 

Those left to mourn Marilyn are her mother, three daughters Sarah (Zach) Plank, Ashley Guffey, and Nikki Guffey, two brothers Dave and Jesse Johnston, also many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

There will be a memorial service on Saturday March 11, 2023, at noon at the Bonebrake Center in Salem.
