Marvin Duane Norris

Marvin Duane Norris passed away quietly at the age of 74 at Phelps Health, Tuesday, February 25, 2025. He was born to Clarence Henry and Dorothy (Shuey) Norris on January 20, 1951. He married Mary Ellen Scott on August 19, 1972. They spent 52 years together. When you saw one, you saw the other, until cancer, they were always together. To this union two daughters were born. Dee Brown of Moberly, and Melanie Sue Englehart (James) of St. James.

He worked for twenty-two years at Schwitzer in Rolla, then he went two years to Linn Technical School and got a degree in Industrial Electric. He then worked for several years at Fleming Mfg. in Cuba, and lastly for Ozark Mfg. in Cuba, where we believe all the dangerous chemicals is where he got the cancer.  He was very proud of his work.

He was a member of St. James Christian Church, before it split and was changed completely, where he served as Sunday School Supt. for several years, a deacon , and a servant wherever he was needed. He called on many with his best friend, Raymond Bond, before he left. Those two would go wherever the need was. 

He is surviived by his wife Mary, of the home. Dee & Melanie, "His very special granddaughter" Alexia Colleen Englehart of St. James and very special grandson Vincent Edward Parker and his wife Madalyn of Pennsylvannia. Grandson Devon Brown (Gabby) of Columbia, and grandson Ethan Englehart (Melanie L) of Rolla. Great grandchildren Charlotte Blair Parker, Kristen Schuler, Daniel Schuler, and Octavia (Taylor) Shuler of Rolla and expected soon AJ Englehart. Brother Warren Norris (Patricia) and sister Karen Carter (Bill) of Licking. Sister Brenda McGranahan of Kentucky, and many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by five sisters Barb, June, Janet, Debbie, and Linda as well as three brothers David, Dale, Donald and Wayne.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
