Michael "Mike" Thomas Sims

Michael “Mike” Thomas Sims, age 64 of Richland, passed away Friday, September 10, 2021, at his residence.

Mike was born September 25, 1956, in Independence, MO, a son to Leroy and Helen (Kenser) Sims.

Mike was a graduate of Van Horn High School in Independence.

Mike was employed at Pratt Farms in Richland for 30 years.

He enjoyed listening to music, drinking beer, shooting guns, hunting, fishing, driving around the farm and spending time with his family.

Mike is survived by three sons, Shaun Sims, William Sims and Wayne Sims all of Independence; two daughters, Michaele Sims and Lindsey Smith both of Independence; 9 grandchildren, Brendan Sims, Logan Sims, Madilyn Sims, Tessa Sims, Marah Carpenter, Michael Sims, Alexis Smith, Katelyn Smith and Cole McEldery all of Independence.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday November 6, 2021, at the VFW Post 1000, 1002 E. US Hwy 24 #3106, Independence, MO 64050
