Michael Edward Railey

Michael Edward Railey passed away Wednesday, September 04, 2024, at Phelps Health in Rolla, Missouri. He was 56 years of age.

Michael, the son of the late Ernest and Barbara Railey, was born December 29, 1967, in Hawthorn, California.

Michael is survived by his brother: Brian Railey of High Gate, Missouri, Two sisters Virginia Railey of High Gate, Missouri and Susan Christeson of High Gate, Missouri. One nephew Randall Railey and wife Jennifer of High Gate, Missouri. Three nieces Crystal Railey of High Gate, Missouri, Breanne Railey of Georgia, and Shyloh Railey and partner Kota Rhyneer of Newburg. Along with many more great-nieces, great nephews, cousins, and close friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Barbara Railey; and brother in-law James Christeson.

Michael was born in Hawthorn, California. He served many years caring for animals on his family farm in California, before moving to Missouri. Michael worked for the carnival. Later, He loved to host family get-togethers, and would often take the job as grill master. Michael learned to be a humble man, during his short life. He and his brother often lived together. Michael didn’t have children of his own. Although Michael often cared for and spoiled the children in his life. Michael loved and was loved by family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all.

Some of Michaels favorite things to do were, playing poker, grilling, prepping a crab leg feast, playing sudoku puzzles, and reading western books. There was a time Michael would play many card games; including but not limited to Phase 10, UNO, and poker. St. Patrick’s Day was a commonly celebrated family holiday. His Irish heritage ran deep. Michael loved being around his family!

Celebration of life will be 1:00PM Saturday, October 5th, 2024, at the High Gate Baptist Church in High Gate, Missouri.
