Reta Faye Jenkins

  Reta Jenkins, age 77 of Salem, Mo. passed away Friday, October 13, 2017 at her residence. Reta was born on July 31, 1940 in Plato, MO., a daughter to the late Arlie and Dorthy (Wallace) Sallee. Reta attended school at Central Missouri State University where she received her Bachelor's degree in Education. She was a home economics teacher at Francis Howell in St. Charles, and at Salem High School. On July 6, 1970, she was united in marriage to William Jenkins who preceded her in death on August 12, 1992. Reta was a member of the Victor Baptist Church in Salem, Mo., and a member of the Red Hatters Club. Reta enjoyed cooking and sewing. Survivors include: five sisters and one brother, Janet Peirson of Ripley, West VA., Bonnie McMillan and her husband Michael of Sydney, Australia, Connie Patriquin and her husband Gary of Lockport ILL., Ancil Sallee of Littleton, CO., Sharon Hohlfeld and her husband James of Pecos, NM., two brothers in law, William Hord of Santa Maria, CA., Robert Jenkins and his wife Susan of Salem, a special niece, Kim Tierman of Salem, many nieces and nephews, a host of other family, friends and loved ones. In addition to her parents and husband, Reta is preceded in death by two sisters, Reva Hord, and Kay Meade, one brother in law, Robert Peirson and two nephews, CPT Travis Patriquin and Robert Hord. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the Carty Cemetery in Salem, Mo. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to: Carty Cemetery, C/O Salem National Bank, or cards to the family.
