Bob was born at home in Iowa on 7/4/1947 to Howard and Marcedes (Thoma) Hamer.
Bob grew up in middle Iowa and Stewartville, MN. He graduated from Stewartville High School in 1966. Bob worked various jobs in the Stewartville and Rochester Area until he moved to Iowa in 1973.
Bob worked at Hydraulics in Hampton Iowa, then Alexander Manufacturing in Mason City, Iowa then Winnebago Manufacturing in Forest City Iowa until he retired. He met and married his wife Ruth Mumford on July 19th, 1980. They lived in the Mason City Iowa area until Ruth’s passing on March 24th, 2013.
Bob and Ruth helped raise their granddaughters Nancy England and Harley Merry until Bob moved to Salem MO.
Bob loved fishing, watching NASCAR races, tinkering on projects and mowing lawn. His lawns were always spectacular.
Bob is survived by his daughter Robin Bell of Belmond Iowa, Kyle Bell, Isaac Bell and great grandson Elija Neal Bell. Brother Roger Hamer of Salem and family, Roxann (Tom) Neumann of Plainview, MN and families, Linda Hamer of Le Mars, Iowa and Families. Uncle Gerald (Mary) Thoma, Aunt Bonnie Ressler, Aunt Lorraine Reisdorph, Aunt Sandy (Chuck) Christenson, Uncle Robert Messick and many cousins.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife Ruth, parents Howard and Marcedes Hamer,
his nephew Jared Neumann and brother Larry Hamer.
A celebration of life will be held July 29th ,Thursday evening 6-8 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church at 403 MO32 in Salem, MO.
