Ronald Harold Berwick was born March 11, 1938, to Harold and Lillian (Wilkins) Berwick. On October 26, 2023, heaven welcomed Ronnie home. He was 85 years old.
Ronnie was a 1956 graduate of Rolla High School. After graduation, he went to work as a cartographer at USGS, his only employer for 38 years, retiring in 1994. He also served in the Army Reserves with the 471st Engineering Company.
On June 10, 1962, Ronnie married Patricia Russell and they were blessed with four children. Together they celebrated their 60th anniversary last summer. Pat predeceased him on November 26, 2022.
Ronnie was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a founding member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. His unwavering faith serves as an example to all who knew him.
When Ronnie retired, he was able to devote all of his time to his two greatest loves; his grandchildren and his farm. He was happiest on his tractor, putting up hay, or with a chainsaw in hand, cutting fire wood. He was known for his registered Polled Herefords which were admired by all. But his grandchildren truly were the cornerstone of his life. He cherished every moment spent with them, sharing his love of nature, his great work ethic and his never-ending patience. Words that friends most often use to describe Ronnie are kind, friendly and generous.
Ronnie is survived by his four children, Kay (Wayne) Beasley, Bruce Berwick, Lynn (Doug) Wright and Carl (Debra) Berwick; seven grandchildren, Matthew Beasley, Chad and Craig Berwick, Amanda (David) Swanson, Ben Wright and Zoe and Jake Berwick; three great-grandchildren, Malakai, Raimana and Sereana Swanson; his sister, Connie (Don) Swetnam and brother-in-law, Harold (Carol) Russell; and countless friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Patrick Beasley and sister-in-law, Dee Russell.
A memorial service for Ronnie will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, November 20th at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Visitation will precede beginning at 9:30 am. Memorials may be designated to Redeemer Lutheran Church.
