Sharon Kay Overshon passed away Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2023, in the St. Louis Mercy South ICU, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was 74 years of age.
Sharon was a devoted partner, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a dedicated homemaker.
Her family is enormously grateful for her many acts of love, too numerous to list and too beautiful to forget. She provided many carefully and lovingly prepared meals, sewed our clothes for us, and planned wonderful family holidays. Most of all, she provided an abundance of love and guidance. Sharon was a devout Christian and found comfort in her faith every day with prayer. Her work ethic was unending, but in her moments of free time Sharon enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing with her spouse, Bill. She also enjoyed thrifting with her daughter, Donna. Her happiest moments were spent in her living room surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Sharon is survived by her spouse, William Walker, of Rolla, Missouri; sister Janet Sumpter, of Rolla, Missouri; brother Carl Overshon, of Edgar Springs, Missouri; daughter Donna Black (Eric Sparks), of St. James, Missouri; her grandchildren, Ashley Stratman (Tyler), Taylour Black, Weston Davis, Lindsey Martin (Steven) and Ricky Drew; great-grandchildren Kaydence Cosby, Kingsley Dowdy, Valerie Martin, Simon Stratman and Jocelyn Davis.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Eunice Overshon, and her siblings, Mary Overshon Duncan, John Overshon, James Overshon, Earl Overshon, Robert Overshon, and Curtis Overshon, of Rolla, Missouri.
A visitation and memorial service will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023, at 1:00 PM at the Calvary Apostolic Church, 802 W. James Blvd, St. James, Missouri, with pastor Brad Dimmick officiating.
Interment will follow at Thomas Fairview Cemetery.
