Wayne Melton

  Wayne Melton, aka "The Boat Man" , age 63 of Rolla, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2016, after a short battle with cancer. Wayne was born in Rolla on November 17, 1952, to Noah and Georgia Melton.  After the passing of Noah, Georgia married Tom Hunt. On August 3, 1990, Wayne was united in marriage to Brenda Bowers in Las Vegas.  She survives of the home. Wayne enjoyed working on boats and playing music.  Wayne will be dearly missed by his surviving family which includes his wife of 25 years, Brenda Melton of Rolla; a son, Travis Melton; a daughter-in-law, Sashay Melton of Rolla; two very special granddaughters, Kaylyn and Jaydan Melton; a brother, Dwight Melton of Rolla; three sisters-in-law, Theresa Bowers of Rolla, Jeanie Melton of Springfield and Ana Bowers of Texas; a step-brother, Chuck Hunt and his wife Edi of Rolla; two nieces, Brandi Melton of Springfield and Sindy Hunt of Rolla; his special caretaker, Brittany Hunt of Rolla; along with many friends and extended family.  Wayne was preceded in death by: his father, Noah Melton; his mother and step-father, Georgia and Tom Hunt; a mother-in-law, Dolores Bowers; and two brothers-in-law, Gary and Darrell Bowers. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy are suggested to Phelps Regional Homecare Hospice.
