William Altemeyer

William H. Altemeyer passed away on February 1, 2024, at his home surrounded by family.  He was born May 22, 1943, in Washington, MO to the late William and Amelia Altemeyer.  

William was raised in Belle and graduated from Belle High School.  He would later attend the Provost Marshall General School at Fort Gordon, Georgia, while he was serving his country as a Military Policeman.  On December 24, 1960, he married the late Doris Kay Altemeyer in Jefferson City and would go on to raise their three daughters in Union, MO.

He worked as a Quality Control Engineer for the Chrysler Corporation and retired after 30 years of dedicated service. William enjoyed being outdoors and especially loved hunting and fishing. William was a member of the American Legion, a lifetime member of the Republican party, and was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ.  

Those left to mourn his loss are his daughters Tammy Boatright, Shanna (Tim) Wymore, and Tonya (Stan) Christ; grandchildren Tim (Ashley) Wymore, Whitney Boatright, Derrell (Kelly) Roseman, Ben Wymore, Cody (Emily) Wymore; great grand children Ashden Murphy, Mario Wymore, Jakob Murphy, Calahan Lee Wymore, Pearson Jay Wymore.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Doris.  

Memorials are suggested to the American Legion or the Missouri Dept of Conservation.
